I remember when I got started in network marketing and was told I was going to have to pay every week to go sit in some hotel meetings. I was a new mom and my first thought was, why would I want to do that? How do you think your prospects feel?

Not Duplicable

When you talk to old school marketers about online marketing, the first thing they are going to tell you is that it is not duplicable. The truth is that this advice could not be further from the truth. Almost everyone has an internet connection. Anyone can market online. When you look at meetings, some people that get started do not have money to come each week or do not have the time. That doesn’t sound duplicable to me.

Out of Date

Meetings are out of date and frankly, they waste a great deal of time. This is especially true whenever most of these hotel meetings only have the team members showing up and not even recruiting additional people. While this may have been sustainable in the past, people are getting smarter and want results instead of just a weekly gathering.

Low Show Up Rates

The point above eluded to low show up rates but this one deserved to be noted again. Very few people want to come to hotel meetings to find out about businesses. It has been played out and people are tired of the dog and pony show.
